You may have a gripe or two with your boss, but a new survey says your boss may have some gripes of his own about your performance.
A Bank of America survey of small businesses in the Washington area finds 67 percent of small business owners have some level of frustration with their employees.
The top frustrations are lack of proactive thinking, poor time management, lack of accountability and poor communication.
Finding good employees is still a challenge and many Washington area small business owners will be looking for more staff next year.
The survey says 42 percent of Greater Washington respondents will hire over the next 12 months, compared to 31 percent nationally. But 49 percent of small business owners in Washington say that finding qualified employees is difficult.
The top actions small business owners in Washington are taking to retain employees are providing flexible work arrangements, rewarding high performers with bonuses and listening to and implementing employee feedback.
