WASHINGTON (AP) -- MedStar Washington Hospital Center is laying off hundreds of workers, citing financial pressures.
The Washington Post reports (http://wapo.st/1bF56G3 ) that MedStar said Wednesday it has laid off 300 employees, about 5 percent of its workforce.
Donna Arbogast, vice president of public affairs and marketing, says 60 of the positions were in management. None of the positions involve bedside care.
