WASHINGTON - Some D.C. taxi drivers say now that they've installed credit card machines in their cabs, they haven't received thousands of dollars in credit card fares.

One driver, a father of four, told The Washington Post he's been waiting 15 days for $1,500 in fares.

Officials at Hitch, the payment processing company drivers use, say the company is working to resolve the credit card problems.

But the company says in some cases drivers provided bad information, such as inaccurate bank account information or routing numbers.

Cabbies have resisted installing the credit card machines, but Neville Waters with the D.C. Taxicab Commission says 91 percent of the District's 6,500 taxis now have them.

Some drivers say they end result has been happier customers and higher tips.
