Radio communications highlight intensity of Navy Yard shooting

WASHINGTON – “We have an active shooter on the fourth floor.”

“Male with a shotgun. Multiple shots fired. Multiple people down.”

Broadcastify.com edited together parts of the radio communications of the D.C. Fire and EMS Department as first responders dealt with the mass shooting at the Washington Navy Yard Monday.

While it’s not in real time, the 46 minutes of audio gives insight into what the first responders faced.

Dave Statter of STATter911.com says the audio begins about 8:35 a.m., 20 minutes after the shootings began.
