WASHINGTON (AP) -- Transportation officials in Washington are closing the Frederick Douglass Memorial Bridge over the Anacostia River for routine testing.
The bridge, which is also known as the South Capitol Street Bridge, will be closed on Sunday from 4 a.m. to 9 a.m.
Transportation officials say crews will test the bridge, which opens to allow water traffic to pass. Crews will ensure the span is operating properly and make any necessary repairs.
