WASHINGTON (AP) - A man is in custody after leading police on an hour-long, high- speed chase that began north of Baltimore and ended in Washington.
Police told media outlets that the chase began around 8 p.m. in Towson, Md., when officers tried to stop a suspect wanted on an outstanding warrant.
Authorities said the man, driving a late-model Jeep, led police on a high-speed chase that passed through Maryland's Howard and Montgomery counties as well as Washington's DuPont Circle before ending amid the shops and stores of Friendship Heights.
WTOP Radio reports that the man kept driving on just two rims on the vehicle's passenger side for part of the chase.
WTOP's Traffic Center tracked the chase from the start. At one point, the chase went past WTOP's studios on Wisconsin Avenue in NW D.C.
