WASHINGTON (AP) -- D.C. police have charged a man with robbing two diners at gunpoint as they ate on the patio of a restaurant last month.

Police on Sunday said they have arrested 30-year-old James Edward Wade of Washington and charged him with armed robbery.

Police posted a video of the robbery on YouTube on Thursday and said Wade's arrest followed numerous tips from the public. The robbery happened on the night of May 17 outside Pizzoli's Pizzeria on 12th Street in Logan Circle.

A man who answered the telephone at a listing for Wade said he had not lived at the address in years.

Correction: A previous version of this story incorrectly described the two diners as a couple.
