Friday - 6/7/2013, 3:21am  ET

WASHINGTON (AP) -- D.C. Superior Court is holding a graduation for women participating in Family Treatment Court and also celebrating the court's 10-year anniversary.

D.C. Superior Court Chief Judge Lee Satterfield and Judge Zoe Bush, the presiding judge of Family Treatment Court, are expected to attend Friday's ceremony at the courthouse.

Family Treatment Court is a program for mothers and other women who are the guardians of children and the subject of child neglect allegations.

Women who participate live in a treatment facility with their children for the first three months and get services including substance abuse education and parenting classes. Participants who complete the residential phase participate in a formal graduation ceremony and then move on to a community-based after-care phase.
