National Archives hosts Dick Cavett for book talk

WASHINGTON (AP) -- The National Archives is hosting former talk show host Dick Cavett to discuss his new book.

Between 1968 and 1982, Cavett hosted some of the most famous personalities on his late-night talk show. He shares some of his favorite stories from those years, including testifying on behalf of John Lennon, in his new book "Talk Show: Confrontations, Pointed Commentary, and Off-Screen Secrets."

On Friday at noon, the National Archives is hosting a discussion with Cavett and a book signing. The event is free.

The program will be webcast live online.
