WASHINGTON (AP) - Soldiers from a D.C. Army National Guard military police battalion are preparing to return home.
About 70 members of the battalion are returning Sunday to the District of Columbia following a 10-month deployment to Afghanistan.
The soldiers operated out of Bagram Air Base, where they provided military police help and physical security details, conducted personal convoys and also managed mail operations and a dining facility, among other responsibilities.
They'll be returning Sunday to the D.C. National Guard Armory on East Capitol Street.
