Men who ran Fairfax prostitution ring sentenced

WASHINGTON – Two men who admitted to running a prostitution ring in Fairfax County were sentenced Friday.

The Washington Post reports that Edwin Barcus, 27, and Joshua Dumas, 21, prostituted at least 7 girls and 23 women in a Fairfax County prostitution ring.

Barcus was sentenced to 25 years for his role in starting the prostitution ring, while Dumas was given 20 years for his lesser role.

“They abused, assaulted and sexually exploited as many as seven young girls for commercial profit, up and down the Eastern Seaboard, says U.S. Attorney Neil MacBride.

Undercover police officers set up a sting last December and discovered the sophisticated operation the men were running. After confessing to the crime in March, the two men will learn how many years they may spend behind bars Friday morning.
