NORFOLK, Va. - A Virginia Wesleyan student is facing charges after police say he bought a video game system with counterfeit money and then tried to return it.
The Virginian-Pilot reports that ( http://bit.ly/ugVcLX) 21-year-old Christopher Moore of Petersburg bought an Xbox 360 at a Norfolk Game Stop on Dec. 15. A search warrant affidavit says the manager was suspicious of the $100 bills Moore used, so he turned them over to police. The U.S. Secret Service determined they were counterfeit.
Court documents say Moore tried to return the Xbox the next day, but the manager called police and Moore was arrested. Police say they seized additional counterfeit $100 bills.
Moore is set to appear in Norfolk General District Court on Jan. 24.
Moore did not immediately return a message seeking comment.
