RICHMOND, Va. - Gov. Bob McDonnell says Virginia's agricultural exports continue to grow, despite a slow worldwide economic recovery.

McDonnell said Tuesday that the state's agricultural exports totaled a record $2.35 billion in 2011. That broke the previous record of $2.3 billion set in 2009 and was up more than 6 percent from 2010.

Soybeans, poultry, wheat, pork, lumber and wood products, corn and raw peanuts are among last year's top export products.

Morocco was the top export destination, with more than $360 million worth of Virginia agricultural products. China was second with $304 million. Other top destinations were Canada, Switzerland and Egypt.
